Kurt Happy Zouma must be the most fitting name in all of football, even if the man himself hasn’t always cared too much for his own middle name. Recently, he’s embraced English football’s fascination with it, especially as it describes his personality so perfectly.
The towering Chelsea defender spent last season on loan at Stoke City, where he played a lot but moments of happiness were few and far between as the Potters crashed hard into relegation from the Premier League. And while happiness at Chelsea also continues to elude him, he perhaps can find some on loan at Everton this season.
So far so good then, as Zouma is all smiles and handshakes in his first few days on Merseyside.

Of course, for that to continue, he will have to first find his way onto the pitch. With solid competition from the likes of Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka, Mason Holgate, and Yerry Mina, smiles alone will not get the job done.
G’wan, Big Kurt!
