No (first-team) transfers, no manager (or a manager or two in limbo, if you want to get technical about it), and a sense of impending doom — that’s the Chelsea lot these days. But it doesn’t have to be! As Eric Idle sang while hanging from a cross in Life of Brian, always look on the bright side of life.
For example, the loan/development group has been back in training for almost a week, and on Friday, Tammy Abraham reminded us why he ought to at least get a look-see from the new manager, if and when we get one.
Sure, there was no pressure and no defending and all, but that’s not the point. We’re choosing to look on the bright side of life!

Meanwhile, Chelsea Women are already starting their preseason schedule although you wouldn’t know it from either the new official Chelsea website or the official FA WSL website, neither of which have their fixtures posted (Hey, stop with those negative vibes, man, this is the positive thinking thread!)
Yesterday was Carly Telford’s 31st birthday and our backup goalkeeper celebrated it with a terrific save against Reading.
The birthday girl doing what she does best!

For the final dose of good news today, we stay with Chelsea Women. And we pose the following question in all seriousness — just what, exactly, are they training for? Fight club? WWF? UFC?
This victory strengthens the soul of ... Karen Carney!
