LIVE BLOG

90+5min: England win! First time in semifinals since 1990!

84min: Dier comes on for Henderson, then Rashford replaces Sterling.

83min: England seeing things out now without too much trouble.

76min: England make a change, a reluctant Dele trundles off (and not just waste time) and is replacement by Fabian Delph.

71min: Guidetti, a recent substitute, combines with Berg, but his shot is pushed up and out for a corner. Sweden have wasted a couple golden opportunities here.

68min: England threaten to make it three, but Sweden survive.

63min: Sweden contrive to miss two excellent chances, Pickford making the save on the first and the defense crowding out the second shooter. Should’ve been 2-1. All going England’s way.

59min: Dele Alli doubles England’s lead! Of course it’s header, from a cross.

55min: England’s turn to threaten with some crossing, but Sweden survive. So much crossing in this game!

52min: Sweden continuing to press for the equalizer. England dealing well.

47min: Sweden into it from the off; Pickford called into action for an excellent save from Berg.

HALF-TIME: England lead, 1-0.

45min: Another long ball over the from Henderson finds Sterling in acres of space, tries to round the goalkeeper, but Olsen makes a great save to keep it 1-0.

43min: Great chance for Sterling, but it’s saved and then he’s belatedly flagged offside anyway.

42min: Unimaginative play continues as Sweden try to get back into it. Pickford cuts out a cross. Earlier, Sterling’s cross was defended well at the other end.

38min: Despite the goal, the slow tempo and pattern of the game has remained unchanged.

30min: Corner! England! Set piece goal! Harry Maguire, the man. 1-0!

25min: Berg flagged offside as the game threatens to break into something interesting.

20min: Young’s cross is cleared well by Granqvist. They try to break, but England recover well.

19min: Sterling breaks as Sweden push forward, Larsson tackles but the loose ball runs to Kane who has a go from 20+ yards. Just wide.

15min: Sweden attack snuffed out. Cagey start continues.

12min: Claessen with a long-range sighter; well high and wide.

11min: England set up camp briefly in Sweden’s half, but Walker’s cross is easily cut out. Tempo of game remains rather slow.

6min: Krafth carelessly loses possession in a dangerous area, but Dele’s pass just a bit too long and the goalkeeper gathers.

3min: The teams trade long balls in careful start for both sides.
