Despite the months of acrimony between Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and former Napoli head coach Maurizio Sarri, which at least at one point threatened to devolve into legal proceedings and saw the team hire a new manager before sacking the old one, Napoli still managed to find it in their heart to thank their outgoing manager for a job well done. What a strange concept!
The club would like to thank Maurizio Sarri for the work he has done over the past three years. Through the job he did, the players at this club have grown and improved, showing themselves to be top players and developing a style of play appreciated the world over.
We hope Maurizio finds, wherever he goes, that same warmth, respect and affection he enjoyed from everyone at the club and in this city. Best of luck, Maurizio!

Beyond the niceties, the line about developing the squad into top players and playing quality football (though, at least so far, non-winning football) should be things that we can look forward to during his tenure at Stamford Bridge as well, hopefully.
