Despite only joining Chelsea last summer, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched that Davide Zappacosta would be leaving Stamford Bridge. He’s been attracting quite a bit of interest from Inter Milan in recent weeks, and the Nerazzurri have supposedly even held preliminary talks with his representatives.
While the Italian defender is currently on vacation over in the U.S. — his Instagram feed has been documenting his trip from upstate New York to the Big Apple, including an appearance at Steve Nash’s annual “Showdown” — that didn’t deter Sky Italia from catching up with him and asking him about his future and the Inter rumours.
“I just want to have a great season, regardless of where I play. Inter? The interest is pleasing but I don’t know anything about it and I’m only thinking of Chelsea.”

Textbook answer to the most common of questions in the midst of the summer transfer window madness. Zappacosta seems quite pleased to be linked to the Nezzazzuri, though he’d probably be happy with any club showing an interest after the season he just had, to be honest.
While many would be happy to see the back of the 26-year-old, it’s nice to see a Chelsea player committed to the club and ready to fight for a spot in next season’s (presumably) new attacking system under Maurizio Sarri. Whether said manager will deem the right wing-back to be a part of the current squad is a different question, of course.
