It may have been a slow start to the summer, but rumors are slowly starting to roll in.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe (via Sport Witness), Chelsea along with North London rivals Tottenham are still interested in Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar. He also remains in the transfer shortlist of Arsenal and Liverpool, the latter being the club whom are reportedly first in his preferences.
Liverpool still interested in Thomas Lemar, say L'Equipe, and it's reiterated he wanted to join them last summer, not Arsenal.https://t.co/NjV5U1zQFn #lfc pic.twitter.com/kriRLvOvAE

Last summer, offers of €90 and €100 million from Liverpool and Arsenal respectively had reportedly arrived on Monaco’s table for the 22-year-old, both of which were rebuffed. This season however his offensive production took a hit, as he only recorded 2 goals and 8 assists in 2,383 minutes of league play compared to the 9 goals and 10 assists he got in 2,612 minutes featured on the pitch during Monaco’s Ligue 1 winning campaign in the 2016-17 term.
Still Lemar earned a spot in France’s national team for the upcoming World Cup. The tournament will most likely be key to prove his suitors he is still deserving of a record-breaking fee. Or at least a more reasonable offer so he can make his (seemingly) inevitable switch to the Premier League, following the steps of his teammate Fabinho.
