Whether it’s new players or a new manager, Eden Hazard just wants the kind of new signings who will help bring success back to Chelsea next season. Talking to reporters at Belgium’s World Cup training camp in Brussels, the future Chelsea legend talked in general terms, yet obviously quite specific as far as the manager was concerned.
“Yeah I want to know. I want to know [who will be in charge next season], but like I say I am focused on the World Cup.”
“I let the board manage Chelsea the best way that they can.”
”If we have something new - manager or players - it is always good to know it because I want players that can [help bring success back to] Chelsea next season. But to be fair the transfer market is not here [in full flow] yet. We will see after.”
These comments are a repeat of similar pronouncements made by Hazard before the FA Cup win, which put a happy note on what was otherwise a disappointing season.
“We had a bad season with Chelsea. We won the FA Cup at the end - so it was a little bit better but I’m only focused on the World Cup.”

Hazard also admitted not that long ago that he himself had a disappointing season, so improvements will be necessary across the board, from the current squad to any new signings that may be incoming. But while Eden may think there is time for all that after the World Cup (including, presumably, his own contract extension talks), Chelsea cannot afford to leave everything for the last minute once again, not if we are to help fulfill his and the team’s ambitions.
