The 2018 World Cup starts in exactly one month, which means it’s time to start preparations. That includes naming a provisional squad of 30-35 players, which then must be cut down to 23, ten days prior to the start of the tournament.
Chelsea will surely have several representatives at various nations (Belgium, most notably), but here are the first six who have been confirmed as part of the provisional squad selections.
Argentina: Wilfredo Caballero — he actually has a decent chance of becoming first-choice while in Russia, considering his competition at the position is anything but impressive.

DENMARK: Andreas Christensen — The Danish prince was sent back to Chelsea with fatigue during the last international break, but he will surely get his ticket to Russia.

NIGERIA: Victor Moses, Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo — we may not have Mikel John Obi anymore, but Chelsea’s Nigerian contingent’s going strong with Moses and the two loanees.

CROATIA: Mario Pašalić — another loanee but one who flew under the radar a bit this season while at Spartak Moscow. There’s strong competition for midfield spots in this squad, so Pašalić could see his name on the cut list eventually.
