Zola and Le Saux practicing for Chelsea Legends game by recreating iconic goal

The dynamic duo are at it again.

Next Friday, Chelsea Legends (now including non-98 crew like Ballack and Essien, too!) will play a match against Inter Milan’s Legends at Stamford Bridge. The match will be in honor of the late Ray Wilkins. In preparation of the event, two Chelsea greats teamed up to try and relive an iconic moment from the club’s history.

Gianfranco Zola’s magnificent back heel goal against Norwich City in 2002 will live on forever at Chelsea. To prepare for his first appearance at Stamford Bridge since 2004, he teamed up with with the man who got the assist on that moment of brilliance, Graeme Le Saux, these days often heard on NBC as color commentator for their Premier League broadcasts.

After some arguing about which was better, the goal or the cross, we see a few missteps and Zola, humble as ever, pleading his case that the goal happened 20 years ago. Finally the midfield maestro puts it in the back of the net like he did back then.

It’s always great seeing Chelsea legends reminisce on the glory days. However, if you have the logistical means, you can (and should) watch the whole team on May 18, the night before the FA Cup final. Grab your tickets for the match here.
