Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s late-season rush to force his way into England’s World Cup squad just got another massive boost.
In the 80th minute of Crystal Palace’s historic 5-0 rout of 10-man Leicester City, he latched onto a sweet breakway pass from Mamadou Sakho and comfortably slotted home Palace’s third goal of the match, and his second of the season.
The lopsided score was Palace’s biggest win of the Premier League era.
After missing eleven games in all competitions with an ankle injury, Loftus-Cheek has returned in fine form, putting in heavy minutes in his last four matches, trying to prove both his durability and his sharpness.
Mission accomplished, Ruben.
