Good things happen when a striker’s on fire. His confidence soars. His team has a better chance of winning. And he gets personal honors. All three have happened for Michy Batshuayi since he moved on loan to Dortmund in January.
Confidence soaring? Check. Nine goals in 13 matches in all competitions.
Team winning? Check. Borussia Dortmund are a perfect six-for-six when the Batsman scores.
Personal honors? Check. Bundesliga viewers just awarded him the Goal of the Month for March. It was certainly worthy of the honor, a delicate backheel flick off of an André Schurrle (another Chelsea connection!) corner kick against Hannover for the only goal in the game.
So far this loan move to Germany has been a dream decision for Bats. He’s trusted, he’s scoring goals, he’s making friends, he’s finding success and having a blast. He might even be learning a bit of German slowly. What more could you want?
