Over the years, Hazard has had a fair amount of success against the Premier League's biggest teams, but perhaps none more so than Tottenham Hotspur. In twelve career meetings, he’s scored five goals and assisted on three — no other big team has felt his wrath more.

Whether it was Chelsea’s 4-0 demolition of Spurs in 2013-14, Chelsea’s 3-0 win in 2014-15 or when Chelsea came from behind in our worst season ever under Roman Abramovich to draw 2-2 and kill Spurs’ hope of winning the Premier League title in 2015-16, Hazard loves to score against Tottenham Hotspur. He’s scored more against only three teams: West Brom (7), Newcastle (6) and AS Nancy (6).
In those twelve games, Chelsea recorded six wins and only two losses. Now it’s time to make it seven out of thirteen. Hazard knows the magnitude of the occasion.
“I think in the last two or three years especially it hasn’t been easy to win against them. Their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is very good, Harry Kane has been on fire and they have a lot of top players like Moussa Dembele.
“It’s a massive derby for the fans and a huge game for us. We are all focused. There is only one way for us to play and that’s to try to win the game. In France we say a derby is not like a normal game, it doesn’t matter how you play, you just need to win. When we play against Tottenham everybody thinks the same.
“We know, for the fans, especially at Stamford Bridge, it’s very important because there has been a big rivalry between us in the last few years.”
Chelsea seem to be getting back on track after suffering losses at the hands of Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona while dropping to 5th in the league table and getting knocked out of Champions League. Chelsea will need to gather all the confidence, all the grit and all the mental strength that they can as we go into a massive derby at a very important point in the season. It’s make or break time!
[On whether he is confident ahead of the game against Spurs]
“Yes, especially after the game against Leicester which we won,’ he responds. ‘We had a couple of bad games last month but before we went away for the international break we wanted to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup, and we did, so the confidence is back and everyone is focused on this game.
“We know it’s a massive one if we want to reach our target of finishing in the top four. We’re ready to play a good game.”

As recounted to the Chelsea Official Website, here are Eden Hazard’s three favourite goals against Spurs:
Chelsea 3-0 Spurs, 2014-15 Premier League
Chelsea 2-2 Spurs, 2015-16 Premier League
Spurs 2-4 Chelsea, 2016-17 FA Cup semifinal
Chelsea need to win this game and if we are to win against a Spurs team who have not lost a single game in Premier League since this year has started, Chelsea will need Hazard to produce a moment of magic, like he so often does against Tottenham.
Here’s hoping he continues his tradition of haunting Spurs and helps us continue our tradition of not losing to them at Stamford Bridge since 1990.
LET’S WIN THIS!
