Trevoh Chalobah signs new three-and-a-half-year contract

Chalobah Mk.II commits his future to the Blues!

Trevoh Chalobah has today committed his immediate future to Chelsea Football Club and signed a new contract until June 2021!

Trevoh, younger brother to our former midfielder Nathaniel, has been at the club for over a decade now, having played through all the youth ranks and establishing himself as a regular under Jody Morris' academy side. In his brief interview after signing on, the 18-year-old finds all the right words to show that he'll be trying to fight for a spot in the first team sooner rather than later, additionally describing his feelings on the extension:

“It’s great and I think it shows the hard work I’ve put in. For me being at this club for a long time, it shows my development and now I have to just keep on going. It’s important now that I don’t relax, keep my head down to work hard and focus on the big games coming up.”

Trevoh goes on to mention and underline the fantastic opportunity of being able to train and develop next to the likes of Eden Hazard or, more fittingly as defender, Antonio Rüdiger. Especially in regard to the latter, it's great to see how young Chalobah is finding his place in this current Chelsea squad and is able to learn from a comparatively experienced player like Rüdiger, someone who generally seems very well liked and popular at Stamford Bridge.

“Training with players like Eden Hazard and Antonio Rudiger, who plays in my position, is really good. I just want to learn and take in all the information every day because you need to be able to take what you practise in training into games if you want to play at the highest level.”

Let's hope that he is the Chalobah who doesn't get away!
