It’s a marketing exercise, of course, aimed at Chelsea fans worldwide, but especially in key Carabao markets like Thailand, Vietnam, China and Brazil. The reason you haven’t seen them before now is that their release was timed to coincide with Chelsea’s match at Barcelona in the Champions League.
The seventeen GIFs feature Eden Hazard, Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, David Luiz, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Willian hamming it up as they try to act out classic GIF emotions. You can find them all right here on Giphy.
It may be a commercial exercise, but there’s nothing wrong with having a bit of fun too, especially in a season that’s been a bit grim so far. My favorite is the shoulder dust off, but you could say I also love this one.
