Predicted Chelsea lineup against Leicester City: Last chance at silverware, here we come!

Leicester City vs. Chelsea, FA Cup: Predicted lineup

After Tuesday's disappointing result, a scenario has unfolded that many of us dreaded back in January: Chelsea no longer have a chance of acquiring a major piece of silverware this season and are even struggling to get into the Premier League’s top four for next season's Champions League. But, wait! There's still a glimmer of hope, something that might give our season at least a bit of a silver lining: the FA Cup, a competition Chelsea have won on 7 occasions throughout their history!

While this trophy might not be held in high regard outside of the UK, it's nevertheless something for the Stamford Bridge trophy cabinet and should be taken seriously. The opponent for the quarter-finals match set to take place this Sunday are Leicester City, a foe Chelsea have become rather familiar with in cup competitions in recent history and if we've learnt anything from our recent games against the East Midlands side then that this tie should definitely not be taken lightly.

To avoid losing our last hope of silverware, Chelsea should therefore resort to a strong, competitive eleven for Sunday's clash, with rotation kept to a minimum. The 3-4-3 seems the only valid choice at the moment and should be employed once more, notable changes in personnel being Caballero, Cahill, Emerson, Bakayoko, Zappacosta, and Morata who all come in for Courtois, Rüdiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Moses, and Giroud, respectively.

Thus, my predicted line-up is as follows:

3-4-3:

Caballero | Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta | Emerson, Kanté, Bakayoko, Zappacosta | Hazard, Morata, Willian

The WAGNH community’s preferred line-up more or less mirrors the one above with the exceptions of Rüdiger and Drinkwater being preferred over Cahill (60%) and Bakayoko (47%). As is perceivable in the comparatively low percentages, there's generally quite a bit of good, old palpable discord about who should start against Leicester and I've got a feeling that the boss might surprise us in some capacity.

3-4-3 (76%): Caballero (72%) | Rüdiger (73%), Christensen (70%), Azpilicueta (89%) | Emerson (63%), Kanté (82%), Drinkwater (49%), Zappacosta (73%) | Hazard (74%), Morata (62%), Willian (82%)

No room for errors here, lads. Give it your all!
