Chelsea's very own Antonio Rüdiger has been nominated for the renowned German Football Ambassador award (German: 'Deutscher Fußball Botschafter') in his home country today, an award which is given to an athlete who has been an excellent, positive representative of the German nation while playing abroad.

The prize itself is given quite a fair share of prestige in the German speaking area and a nomination alone is already definitely something Rüdiger can be proud of. Coincidentally, a former Chelsea player in form of André Schürrle has also been a recipient of the prize in the past, winning it in 2014.

Rüdiger might not be the world's best defender but he's been a good purchase for Chelsea and has been playing well in recent times. Additionally, he has been bringing a positive vibe to the team, always being good for a laugh, and constantly gives his utmost best. In short, everyone seems to be very fond of the German around the club and he deserves all the support he can get!

As the voting takes place publicly, we are all able to give Chelsea's centre-back our vote and we'd thus like to encourage each and every one of you to do so by following the link.

Good luck, Toni! We're all routing for you!
