Concerning times at Chelsea these days, with drama on and off the pitch, and not much of it good. It’s a road we’ve been down many times in the past fifteen years, so we should be quite familiar with it, though that doesn’t mean it ever gets any easier.
We all know how this is likely to end eventually, though it doesn’t look like we’re quite there yet. For now, everyone seems to be saying the right things and everyone wants to right the ship before it starts sinking.
Chelsea vice-captain César Azpilicueta is one of those who has expressed sentiment in public along those lines, also posting the following inspirational message on Twitter.
“Difficult moments will make us stronger,” says Azpi, which drew a nice response from the one and only Didier Drogba.
Drogba is undoubtedly familiar with the current situation at Chelsea, having gone through no fewer than three mid-season sackings, at least one of which he was instrumental in engineering, even. (In his defense, Scolari had designs of getting rid of him for Adriano).
In any case, no such player power at Chelsea anymore, if sources are to be believed, so the players can just go ahead and concentrate on playing better.
