Despite a horrid run of form lately, Chelsea still have a chance at two of the Premier League’s monthly awards for January.
Eden Hazard has been nominated for the EA Sports Player of the Month award thanks to his three goals in four matches. The best of the bunch was this solo effort against Brighton in Chelsea’s last win in the league.
Willian plays a perfectly-weighted ball to Hazard who breaks at pace then cuts across the box before executing a deft reverse finish to confuse the defense and keeper and score his second of the day. 0-3. #CFC pic.twitter.com/AAgnmTWhBV— Chelsea GIFs (@ChelseaGIFs) January 20, 2018
Hazard’s competition for the award is: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur), Callum Wilson (AFC Bournemouth)
Speaking of nice goals, Willian also has a chance to take home a lovely plaque as he’s up for the Goal of the Month award. While it’s the Brazilian who is named as the nominee, it’s really a collective team goal that is getting recognized.

This stunning double back heel team move is one of the best teamwork goals you’re going to see all season. While it’s up against stiff competition, it’s hard to argue that it’s not worthy of winning this category.
