Watford 4-1 Chelsea, Premier League: Post-match reaction

It was probably impossible for Chelsea to play as badly in the second half as they did in the first, and especially after the long-overdue introduction of a proper center forward, the Blues made a decent go of things. Down to ten men, it was always going to be an uphill battle.

But then up popped Hazard, who had barely had a touch until then, and drew Chelsea level.

Alas, it was not Chelsea’s night, just it’s not been Chelsea’s week. Janmaat’s equalizer finally made Chelsea pay for rather poor and static defending all night. Then Deulofeu exposed that side of Chelsea’s performance even more. Pereyra added a fourth to make it look not very nice at all.

On the plus side, we remain fourth in the table. Third would’ve been nicer, but fourth is not a disaster.

There will be better days.

Next up: West Brom at home in a week.

It’s going to be a long week.

Maybe tonight/tomorrow morning.
