Cesc Fàbregas has battled a few recent injuries, in addition to Chelsea’s flagging form, but the midfield maestro is now back healthy and ready to make his impact felt once again. Cesc spent most of last season primarily as a super sub, but his role had grown very much into a starter over the past calendar year, leading even to a formation shift (at least temporarily) into a 3-5-2 setup with him as part of the midfield-three. Whether Conte continues down that path or puts Cesc into a backup role once again, one things is for certain. Fàbregas won’t be going quietly into the night.
“At this stage I would say that I want to get into management. In life anything can happen though, everything can change in your mind. I am still feeling very good, very young, I think I can play for many more years, so it’s not something I feel I want to do straight away. But in the future I would like to try.”
Cesc Fàbregas, manager. Stay tuned. But not yet. First, the 30-year-old, whose contract expires in 18 monts, wants to keep playing.
Until then, here’s Cesc practicing his motivation skills.
“We have to keep our heads up. It was a very disappointing night for many reasons. Now is not the time to feel sorry for ourselves or put our heads down, in fact it’s time for the opposite.
”We now have to be stronger than ever, show the quality we’ve got, our leadership and try to focus better than what we’ve done lately and perform at the top level again.”
