Olivier Giroud, who joined Chelsea from rivals Arsenal on deadline day has revealed his biggest “little feeling” about leaving Arsenal. Arsenal’s incompetence to win Premier League.
In a Gunners career that lasted five and half seasons, which saw him score 105 goals, win 3 FA Cups and 3 Community Shields (which isn’t a real trophy, Olivier) never managing to win the Premier League is his biggest regret.
“I don’t know if we can really call it a regret but I have a little feeling of unfinished business because I would really have liked to have won the Premier League with Arsenal.
“You don’t just wipe away five-and-a-half years like that. I have said it often enough -- it was my ultimate goal.
The closest Arsenal came to winning the Premier League during Giroud’s time there was 2015-16 when Arsenal finished second behind surprise winners, Leicester City, while Spurs managed to finish third in a two-horse race.
Fortunately for Giroud, as up-and-down as Chelsea’s seasons tend to be these days, next season should be another glorious one, if the pattern holds.
“Having said that, it’s not over, I’m still in the Premier League, now I’m at Chelsea. For this year, I think it’s over for the title, but next year, we’ll come to it with great ambitions. I still want to win it before I end my career.”

Giroud will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Ashley Cole and Cesc Fabregas who both found ultimate Premier League success at Chelsea. He’s made a good start to his career at Chelsea, now he has to continue taking advantage of what should be plentiful opportunities given Alvaro Morata’s continuing struggles.
As added bonus, Giroud’s also made the squad a fair bit better looking, and few can complain about that!
