A bit of great news just ahead of kick-off against Fulham, as the Telegraph’s Matt Law is reporting that César Azpilicueta has agreed to a new long-term Chelsea contract extension!

Law had broken the story of N’Golo Kanté’s renewal a couple days prior to the official announcement as well, and there’s little reason to doubt the veracity of this latest report. Azpilicueta had 18 months remaining on the extension he signed in the middle of the “Mourinho Season” and was thus one of the highest priority contract extensions for the club to work out.
Chelsea will make the official announcement in the coming days, with the new deal expected to last through the end of the 2021-22 season and increase Azpilicueta’s pay modestly, from 120k-a-week to 150k. But this is Captain Dave we’re talking about, so the numbers could be just about anything and we’d be happy.
So, Kanté’s done, Azpi’s done ... let’s get Hazard done, too!
