WINNER WINNER SEMIFINALS NEVER IN DOUBT DINNER

It took the better part of 83 minutes for Chelsea to turn dominance into scoreboard action, with second-half substitute Eden Hazard making the crucial difference once again.

Chelsea had produced 20+ shots before Hazard’s 10th goal of the season got Chelsea the win in regulation (instead of needing penalties like Manchester City against Leicester City last night). It was Chelsea’s 10th shot on target.

Chelsea are thus into the semifinals for the second straight season, and will play one of Manchester City, Tottenham ... or third division Burton Albion! Obviously we’ll be hoping for those guys (who have Chelsea goalkeeper Brad Collins on loan, too)! The draw will be held momentarily.

Job done.

Carefree.

  • Several changes from Sarri in the starting lineup, with Loftus-Cheek showing versatility again in starting as the right-sided forward. He would go on to play left-sided forward (after Pedro replaced Willian), then back in midfield (after Hazard replaced Barkley).
  • Christensen’s apparent hamstring injury will be a concern. He was replaced by David Luiz for the final 10 minutes.
  • Callum Wilson looked useful, showing good strength and pace. Not much chance to see him in possession however.
  • Next up: Leicester City on Saturday
  • KTBFFH
