In one way, Willian has picked up this season exactly where he left off last season. After last night’s match against Vidi FC, he’s now the only player to have featured in every single competitive match this season. He even played in the Community Shield! He hasn’t started all matches (though he has the majority of them), but he’s continued to be ever-present in post-match player ratings. And while these sorts of appearances-streaks did not save his relationship with Conte, so far, it seems to be good enough with Sarri.
Another way Willian has picked up right where he left off is in terms of scoring nomination-worthy goals. In fact, he won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award in January, for finishing off a flowing team move against Brighton.
Now he’s back among the nominees, though this time for an outstanding individual effort, against Cardiff City in the first game from the September international break.
Here’s a refresher, if you forgot about this stunning effort into top bins.
Willian receives a deflected pass at the top of the box, settles and curls a beauty into the far top corner. What a finish! 4-1. #CFC pic.twitter.com/US8vp7hmVd

So, get to voting. Here are the rest of the nominees, including goals from Zaha, Højbjerg Gündogan, Lacazette, Agüero, Kyle Walker, and the shoo-in for the prize, Daniel Sturridge against Chelsea.
It’s that time again, get your votes in for Carling Goal of the Month! Take a look at these absolute rockets from September and vote for your favourite: https://t.co/Tpm6LvJqxE pic.twitter.com/slEP2NXj7Q
