Chelsea are into the quarterfinals of the League Cup for the second successive season after Wednesday night’s silly, lucky, and at times rather poorly played 3-2 win over Derby County and their Chelsea quintet of coaches and loanees.

A brace of own goals from the visitors and a winning goal from Cesc Fabregas were part of a five-goal first half, and that scoreline would end up holding through the rest of the match as well. It was a far cry from the impressive 2-1 win at Anfield for the Blues in the previous round, but a win’s a win and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.

The draw for the quarterfinals was conducted shortly after the final whistle, and Chelsea got another winnable home date, this time against fellow Premier League side Bournemouth, while managing to avoid Manchester City, Arsenal, and Spurs.

So we get a rematch of last year’s quarterfinal, which Chelsea won 2-1. This match will be played in mid-December, probably on the 19th (Wednesday), following a Sunday match away at Brighton on the 16th.

The League Cup quarterfinal draw in full:

Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Leicester City OR Southampton vs. Manchester City OR Fulham
Middlesbrough vs. Burton Albion
CHELSEA vs. AFC Bournemouth
