After 18 months of being the backup striker at Chelsea, first to Diego Costa and then to Álvaro Morata, Michy Batshuayi will get a chance to show his talents in a starting role.
With just hours to go on transfer deadline day — the German window closes 6 hours prior to the English one, at 17:00 GMT — Batshuayi has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season on a reported €1.5 million signing fee. The 24-year-old takes the place of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as BVB’s primary striker as they push for the top four in the Bundesliga (they are currently only 6th).

What happens with Batshuayi and Chelsea’s striker situation at the end of the season is anyone’s guess, but hopefully Michy will live up to his previous promise from Marseille during his temporary assignment.
And don’t worry, we’ll be keeping a keen eye on his Twitter account and any subsequent FIFA shenanigans. They are all part of the Michy experience, after all.
Good luck, Bats-man. Hopefully you’ll get to celebrate with Robin at some point.
