Chelsea’s injury list is set to shorten as we head into next week, with Thibaut Courtois and Cesc Fàbregas both expected to be back playing on Wednesday, as Chelsea host AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
Both players had been back to training over the weekend after missing the past couple weeks, and Fàbregas was even deemed fit enough for the bench, but neither were ready to play the full 90 minutes against Newcastle in the FA Cup.
Just spoke to the boss - Willian and Morata still out but Cesc & Courtois will be good to go for Wednesday #CFC #ChelseaTV

Unfortunately, the news is less positive for Álvaro Morata and Willian, neither of whom will be expected to take part in Chelsea’s next match. Willian had suffered a hamstring injury against Arsenal a few days ago, and no prognosis has yet been given on him. Morata had been battling a recurrence of a recent back injury, and while he’s expected to return to training tomorrow, it’s going to take him a few days to get back up to speed. Morata could certainly do without any physical problems like a lingering back injury amid all the talk about what might be affecting his finishing touches.
Conte says Alvaro Morata will start training tomorrow but after the type of injury he has had he needs a bit of time to recover.

There was no update on David Luiz, who missed today’s match with an ankle knock.
