AS Roma director denies Dzeko agreement with Chelsea: ‘What arrived was not good’

Rumors claimed that Chelsea and Roma had agreed terms, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Earlier today, reports in Italy claimed that Chelsea and Roma had reached an agreement for the transfer of Edin Dzeko in a combined deal with left back Emerson Palmieri, and while latter is more or less a formality at this point, Roma have moved to deny any such agreement for the former.

Speaking ahead of their game against Sampdoria, which Dzeko has started at center forward, Roma sporting director Monchi has claimed that he has yet to receive an acceptable offer from Chelsea, or anyone else.

“All the clubs in the world listen to the offers that come. We are ready to listen and then decide. Now Dzeko is here and we are happy. This means that what arrived was not good.”

Rumors claimed that Chelsea had struck a deal at €50m+15m in add-ons (with personal terms to follow soon), but it sounds like Monchi is having none of that.

And so we wait for the next development.
