1. WILLIAN (8.7)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 78
Passes: 38**/46
Shots: 3*/4
Take-ons: 4/9
Fouls drawn: 2
Tackles: 3

Another goal and two more assists for Willian, who finished his white hot December in white hot fashion. And he could’ve had a couple more were it not for Álvaro Morata’s sad day in office.

2. DANNY DRINKWATER (8.4)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 116
Passes: 94/105
Shots: 1*/2
Tackles: 7
Blocks+INTs: 2

Well then, Daniel. The expectations are now set. We’ve been missing a few goals from midfield, so let’s see a few more, shall we? They don’t have to be as spectacular as this effort was. There ain’t no shame in a deflection or two, either.

Drinkwater also led the game in number of touches, doing a very good job of controlling the midfield with his range of passing and tackling alongside N’Golo Kanté. There’s probably a decent reason the two of them helped Leicester City to a title a couple years ago.

3. ANTONIO RÜDIGER (8.1)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 99
Passes: 79/88
Shots: 1*/1
Take-ons: 3/3
Clearances: 3

Speaking of goals that are missing this season, the production of the defenders has been a bit below Chelsea standard this season — JT and Ivanović are two of the highest-scoring defenders in Premier League history — with only Marcos Alonso chipping in regularly thus far with 5. But both Rüdiger and Zappacosta scored in this one, the former from a set piece, even, so perhaps we’re back on track.

STARTERS: Courtois (7.3), Rüdiger (8.1), Cahill (7.0), Azpilicueta (7.4), Alonso (7.1), Drinkwater (8.4), Kanté (7.4), Moses (7.0), Pedro (7.9), Morata (6.4), Willian (8.7)

SUBSTITUTES: Zappacosta (7.4), Bakayoko (6.4), Batshuayi (6.3)
