Michy Batshuayi has been rumored to be on his way to Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season for at least a week now, but the move hinges on Chelsea finding a new backup striker for Álvaro Morata.
This situation has been confirmed by the latest reports in yesterday’s edition of Seville’s Estadio Deportivo, with the newspaper going even as far as to claim that loan terms have been agreed with the 24-year-old striker. The potential move is set to include a loan fee of €1.5m, even.

But the holding pattern continues — the report says the deal could be done “today, tomorrow, or on the 31st of January” — as Chelsea look for a new backup.
In that respect, the only hint of movement we’ve seen is around Andy Carroll, with West Ham apparently putting their foot down on a potential loan deal and only willing to considering a permanent transfer that would practically be extortion.
So Batshuayi waits, and possibly plays, too. We need goals tomorrow against Norwich, Michy!
