Chelsea’s traveling support unveiled a new song for Álvaro Morata today, which unfortunately was not acceptable at all due to the anti-semitic language used to refer to Tottenham Hotspur. And that’s not just my word, that’s the official word from Chelsea.
“The language in that song is not acceptable at all. Alvaro has requested supporters stop singing it. The club and the players appreciate the fans' passionate support away from home, of course, but the language in that song is not acceptable at all.
"I've spoken to Alvaro about it. Alvaro does not want to be connected with that particular song in any way and both the player and club request the supporters stop singing it with immediate effect.”

The specific chant went something like “he comes from Real Madrid, he hates the [funning] y*ds”. But as ingrained in football culture as it may be to insult rival clubs and fans, using anti-semitic language to do so is, again, not acceptable at all. There are ways to do this without making all Chelsea fans look bad (see: Willian song, which also has fun at the expense of Spurs).
