AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA
WHAT A LEGENDARY MOVE AT THE END
Chelsea played very well but in the end have to settle for a draw despite outshooting and out-possessing the home side by quite a large margin. Morata’s latest headed goal brought the Blues back on level terms in the second half, soon after which Fabregas missed a wide open net.
Frustrating in a way, but an excellent performance overall.
Carefree.
- The 3-5-2 worked very very well today, with Hazard & Morata combining well up top and the semi-fluid midfield three shifting around as needed.
- Easy to blame David Luiz for the foul (and it was a foul, to be sure), but the referee let two similar instances go uncalled at the other than earlier in the game. Not the only instance of inconsistent refereeing, with Atletico winning plenty of soft fouls and Chelsea winning none.
- Batshuayi & Willian shift change for Morata & Hazard for the final ten minutes
- Last sub: Christensen for Fabregas with David Luiz moving into midfield anchor man and Christensen playing the David Luiz role!
- With Roma winning earlier in Azerbaijan, though just barely, Chelsea remain top of the group.
- Next up: Manchester City on Saturday, then a two-week international break
