No danger of Chelsea underestimating today’s opposition, at least through the first 45 minutes, with Conte’s well rotated side keeping the pedal to the metal and pouring it on already.
Kenedy, making his first appearance of the season, got us started with a cool finish at the far post from Rudiger’s Azpilicueta-esque cross. Batshuayi got his usual cup goal after that to double Chelsea’s lead after he was found by Eden Hazard following a scramble at the top of the box (Fabregas giving the ball away, then winning it back with a slide tackle to get that sequence started). And then, the moment of the half, with Musonda scoring his first Chelsea goal in his first ever Chelsea start, and celebrating with utter joy to fill our hearts with pride and happiness. He almost a second, too, just before the end of the half.
So, three-nil to the good and looking for more. We could be in for another big score, and perhaps a few more youngsters getting minutes. Clarke-Salter, Sterling, and Ampadu are all on the bench and ready to play.
COME ON, CHELSEA!
