Fractured wrist adds to David Luiz’s troubles from Arsenal draw

David Luiz had a strong game against Arsenal over the weekend, save for two moments, one at the end of each half. One of those (which was mostly his own fault) resulted in a red card, the other (which was mostly just an unfortunate fall), at the end of the first half, as it turns out, in a fractured wrist after he crashed into the advertising hoardings on the sidelines.

David Luiz received treatment at the time but was able to continue (and get himself sent off just before the final whistle). Equally, he's not expected to miss any additional time with the injury beyond the three games he's already set to miss thanks to the suspension.

He will be serving one of those today, as well as over the weekend against Stoke City and next weekend against Manchester City. He should be available for next week's visit to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.
