Morata, Batshuayi bend it better than Beckham in Chelsea corner challenge

At the end of a training session earlier this week, several players took part in what looks to be some sort of corner challenge. Alvaro Morata, Michy Batshuayi, Lewis Baker, and of course David Luiz were all there — David Luiz is always there — while others, like Gary Cahill and new assistant coach Paolo Vanoli were at least watching if not also participating. Chelsea (or whoever organized it) have not released a full video of this yet* — and it could yet turn out to be two separate challenges — but both Batshuayi’s and Morata’s efforts have made it on to social media.

Kicking from a spot a few feet below the goal line, here’s Batshuayi reverse spinning the ball wit the outside of his right boot and curling it directly into the goal like it’s no big deal.

Michy hashtagged this as #BendItLikeBatsman. Indeed.

Not to be upstaged, Alvaro Morata stepped up to the challenge as well, using a more conventional though nonetheless impressive approach with his weaker foot.
