Chelsea are set to close out the pre-season tour of Asia with a game against Internazionale in Singapore on Saturday. This game would’ve been particularly awkward had Inter succeeded in poaching Conte from Chelsea over the summer, as many rumors from Italy wanted us to believe was a possibility, but since they didn’t, it should be a fairly run-of-the-mill type of affair. Though given the recent rumors that popped up regarding Antonio Candreva, maybe he’ll add a bit of subtext.
For Chelsea, it’s a chance to show that the first 30 minutes against Bayern on Tuesday were just an aberration and not a sign of things to come. Or it’s a chance to rotate and give more minutes to the non-starters. Or both.
New arrival Antonio Rudiger should be available for the first time ever while Charly Musonda Jr is back from injury and Cristian Cuevas is back from the far flung forgotten reaches of whatever Loan Army assignment he had been on to provide a fresh set of legs at left wing-back.
Choose wisely.
