Young winger/wing-back Kenedy has been sent home from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Asia two days after posting offensive comments on his Instagram account.
Chelsea have sent Kenedy home to the UK after his social media postings in Beijing. Will play no part in pre-season tour of Asia #cfc

The posts have since been deleted, Chelsea have issued a lengthy apology, and Kenedy himself has issued at least two apologetic statements, but given the circumstances, this may just be the beginning of his reprimands from the club. Not only did Kenedy bring his own name into disrepute, he sullied Chelsea’s good name in China and marred what was otherwise looking like another successful pre-season trip (on and off the pitch) by the club to the region. At this point, a loan move away is expected at the minimum, but it would not be surprising if Chelsea ended up terminating Kenedy’s contract instead — though one would’ve guessed that would’ve happened by now if it were to be the case. Either way, hopefully Kenedy has truly learned from his mistakes as his statements have claimed.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are now without even a pseudo-backup at left wing-back, which should increase the emphasis on trying to find a solution for that position through the transfer market.
