Chelsea’s striker search appears to be trending towards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, certainly over the last couple days, but if Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is to be believed, Chelsea have a) yet to make an offer and b) only have a few days left to do so.
It’s unclear what will happen in the next few days that would then prevent teams from bidding, though BVB are probably trying to draw a line in the sand so they can stop the speculation one way or the other and either move forward with PEA or start working on a replacement. The fee they are looking for is apparently around €80 (£70m), which is £5m more than the amount reported yesterday.
“We have not received any offers for the player. We will wait a few more days, but not for much longer than that. Personally, I’d be happy if Pierre were to remain. Obviously there are clubs in the world where Aubameyang could earn more than he does here.”

One of those clubs where Auba could earn more is Chelsea. Another one of those clubs is AC Milan. PSG were in the running but appear to be out (for now?), as is any silliness from China, where the transfer window closed yesterday. With Chelsea and AC Milan also supposedly courting Belotti, maybe we should just get together, figure out who’s going to bid for whom and then make a deal without interfering with each other’s business.
Nah, that sounds too simple. Silly Season does not like simple. There must be drama!
