Bakayoko determined to win lots of trophies at Chelsea alongside ‘agent’ Batshuayi

Hey, so “Baka’s Blue” to use the hashtag with which Chelsea adorned their Twitter announcement of the club’s newest signing, and not a moment too soon with Chelsea about to depart for a pre-season tour on the other side of the world. That tour will not include Nemanja Matić, which made his selfie with basically his replacement at Chelsea a somewhat awkward occasion.

But awkwardness aside, it’s good vibes all around, with Bakayoko saying all the right things after yesterday’s social media shenanigans.

“I am very happy to be here and to join this great team. I have grown up watching Chelsea. Signing was the natural thing for me because it is a club I loved very much in my childhood.”

“I am now looking forward to evolving under this fantastic coach and alongside so many great team-mates.”

Well, who doesn’t love Chelsea, right?

In his own Twitter announcement, Bakayoko called it a “dream” move that will help him get the things he loves most, championships. He also thanked his friend and “agent” Michy Batshuayi, who basically confirmed the move almost 48 hours before it finally became official.

“I would like to say thank you to all my fans and followers for your kind words and support throughout this journey; as you know, I love championships! As a French First Division Champion, I am even more determined to win as much championships as I can with my dream team CHELSEA. I am pleased to represent the blues! Thank you, yours truly, TB”

With Bakayoko in attendance, Chelsea smashed nextdoor neighbors Fulham 8-2 in a closed-doors friendly. Off to a good start then!

Welcome, TB! Let’s win lots of championships!
