Chalobah posts emotional farewell video to Chelsea on Instagram

Leaving home is never easy, and Nathaniel Chalobah has called Chelsea home for the last 12 years. Even through all the loans and various adventures, Chelsea was always the place to where he returned. But now he’s gone to Watford, which really isn’t that far away, but is an entirely different world. It could be the making of him though it won’t be easy.

With the trasnfer confirmed last night, Chalobah took to Instagram and Twitter to post his emotional goodbye, the slideshow seen above accompanied by a few lovely words.

“Wow. It has been a very emotional few days for me. Leaving [Chelsea FC] after 12 years was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. To the staff members that taught me my trade from the age of 10, the cooks, the physios, the doctors and masseurs that looked after me, the managers I've worked under, the world class players I've played with and finally the fans that have always supported me. I want to say a big thank you. It has always been my dream to play for Chelsea after following the club from a young age. Maybe now is not the right time but I'm sure our paths will cross again. Forever in my heart #Cfc #memoriesforlife #ktbffh

With the latest reports claiming that Chelsea did in fact include a buy-back clause on the cut-rate 5-6m transfer, perhaps our paths will not only cross but converge again one day in the future.

Farewell and good luck until then, Nathaniel Chalobah!
