The third and final pair to take on Chelsea’s “Master and Student 8-ball Challenge” were Kenedy, who barely qualifies as a master at just 21 years of age, and young Josimar Quintero who’s been one of the Academy’s younger standouts this past season.
Unfortunately for young Quintero, the ball did not bounce too kindly as he went 0-for-8 in his half of the challenge. There was however some lovely technique on display, with a few half-volleys and diving headers to spice up the proceedings. Meanwhile, Kenedy put in a couple rabona crosses, which were impressive until it came time to switch roles and the rabona crosses turned into rabona shots. The young Brazilian was clearly enjoying himself.
Will we ever see Kenedy put in a few rabona crosses for Chelsea in a competitive game? Well... we’ll get back to you on that.
In any case, Kenedy & Quintero only managed an overall score of 4/16, which was only good for last place, one behind Loftus-Cheek & Mount and well off the pace of the winners, Willian & Gallagher. Willian, as far and away the oldest player to take part in this challenge, making his experience count!
Another day closer to pre-season then.
