Chelsea played a fairly low number of competitive games this season, 47 — the first time since 2002-03 that we finished the season with fewer than 50 matches played — and certainly nowhere near the 69 that we had on the fixture list in 2012-13, but we still managed to score a fair few goals, quite a few of which were spectacular.
While Eden Hazard’s solo effort against Arsenal (no.66) was voted the Goal of the Season, there’s lots to admire and take in. That Costa goal with the back-to-back one-twos with Hazard and Pedro (no.91) looks better with each replay for example. The title-winning goal is no.99, while fittingly enough, no.100 was from none other than Captain, Leader, Legend.
The final individual tallies for the season are:
Costa: 22
Hazard: 17
Pedro: 13
Willian: 12
Batshuayi: 9
Cahill: 8
Fàbregas: 7
Alonso: 6
Moses: 4
Azpilicueta, Kanté, Matić: 2
David Luiz, Ivanović, Terry: 1
(+2 own goals)
