Rumors abound that Chelsea are closing in on our first big signing of the summer. French international Tiemoué Bakayoko is set to bolster midfield depth ahead of a season chock full of fixtures, including a return to the Champions League.

The rumored €40m price tag slapped on the 22-year-old is a steep one. There will be many strong takes on whether he’s worth it, whether he’s good enough, whether he’s the right player for Conte, whether he’s the right player to compliment N’Golo Kante.
But a look at this 17-minute highlight reel should give us plenty of confidence that he has at least the physical presence to be successful in the Premier League. He’s a massive individual, and yet also pretty nimble on his feet. His technique seems the only worrisome part of his game (even if the video states otherwise); but once he actually gets the ball settled, he looks truly class.
Here’s hoping for Bakayoko in a Blue shirt very soon.
