Cesar Azpilicueta is a much better defender than driver

Let’s all be thankful for that.

It seems like at least once every few weeks we get to see Chelsea players in some kind of fun social media projects. Mainly there are videos of football challenges or interesting Q&A’s. Today we have something a little bit different. Unscriptd, who regularly work with Cesar Azpilicueta, somehow got him to drive them around in one of the most dangerous cars ever created.

In their series “Motor” they got Cesar drive Renault 5 GT Turbo which is nicknamed “The Living Coffin” because of how overpowered it is (horsepower-to-weight and size ratio). The Blues defender says he picked the car because it closely resembled his mother’s car as a kid.

Thankfully he drove at an acceptable speed, perhaps even a bit too slow, while conducting the interview. Things got a bit more difficult when he was asked to turn on the headlights, and then everything went all Dele Alli far post header when Dave was tasked with trying to parallel park in the tiniest space imaginable. As on the pitch, a bit of creative thinking and resourcefulness saves the day. Sort of.

Being a professional driver is probably out as a future career for Azpilicueta. Fortunately, he’s pretty good at his current day job.
