Chelsea backup striker Michy Batshuayi suddenly cannot stop scoring, having saved up nearly a season’s worth of goals for the final three matches of the season. His four goals over the past ten days almost took him into double digits for the season; his 47 minutes per goal ratio in the Premier League an unsustainable anomaly thanks to his high number of brief substitute cameos.
But even if Michy won’t be able to keep up his 2 goals per game pace, he’s still made a strong impact at the end of the season and there’s a growing groundswell of opinion and support in his favor as we head into a crucial summer of transfer activity. Has Michy changed the narrative of career path?
Maybe ... maybe not.
Chelsea are currently undecided over his future. No decision has been taken as yet.

Decision time isn’t here yet, but Michy does have options. Three teams have already been linked — Monaco, West Ham, Newclaste — and more would no doubt jump at the chance to bring him on loan.
Monaco are one of the teams considering Michy Batshuayi. Also West Ham and Newcastle have him on the radar. #cfc #whufc #nufc https://t.co/KRcTnAdS6s

A lot of this will of course depend on Costa’s situation and any big-name reinforcements who might arrive at the Bridge, but Batshuayi has certainly proven himself a quality option off the bench. Is that enough? We shall see...
