It was five years ago, but it feels like yesterday. It was five years ago, but it feels like a lifetime ago.

It was five years ago on this very day that Chelsea won the Champions League.

Since then, we’ve won the league twice, the Europa once, fired two managers and let two more go. Jose Mourinho came back and left again. Didier Drogba came back and left again. David Luiz left and came back again. Romelu Lukaku left and is about to come back. Frank Lampard left and scored against us. Fernando Torres left and we’re all happy for him. Juan Mata left and we’re all still sad. The Old Guard is gone, the New Guard is here.

Time flies.

May 19, 2012, one of the most important dates in Chelsea history. The day that was written in the stars. The day that needed the most special European night at the Bridge in the comeback against Napoli. The day that needed the Miracle of the Camp Nou and the greatest goal ever scored. The day that needed a rabbit pulled out of a hat on the day itself. It was arguably the worst Chelsea team in two decades, it was arguably the greatest Chelsea team in history.

May 19, 2012, a day that will echo through history.

Our friends at the Art of Football have recently released a shirt commemorating Didier Drogba’s winning penalty kick in the shootout, and they’ve once again generously offered to give one away to one of our loyal readers.

To be in with a chance to win, all you have to do is leave a comment below with your favorite memory of that most special day, whatever it may be (though please keep it PG-13). Maybe you were there. Maybe you were watching with a few close friends or crying your eyes out with a few hundred new ones in a bar somewhere. Maybe you were watching at home or hiding behind the sofa. Maybe you weren’t watching it all. We all have our own stories from that day, a shared experience experienced a million different ways. They all count.

The comment with the most Recs will be considered first for the prize, provided there’s no foul play, ballot box stuffing, vote/Rec hacking, or other shenanigans going on. I will make the final call personally.

UPDATE:FrankLampard_8’ is the clear and runaway winner for his sleepless night in a “hostile” environment! Congrats.

(Don’t forget we also have a 10% discount code — ‘WAGNH’ — should you fancy any of their other designs, including the new Batshuayi and Conte shirts.)
