Conte, Kanté, Hazard, Azpilicueta nominated for Premier League end of season awards

Award season rolls on with the nominations for the Premier League Manager of the Season and Player of the Season awards. This player award is not to be confused with the PFA Player of the Year and the FWA Player of the Year awards, both of which were won by N’Golo Kanté.

These are the annual versions of the monthly awards that run throughout the season and thus do have a public vote component, so be sure to do your part. Conte won the Manager of the Month award an unprecedented three months in a row (October-December) while Hazard won the Player of the Month for October. Neither Kanté nor Azpilicueta won a monthly award, but it’s certainly great to see them nominated, especially the latter who’s been the unsung hero of the squad this season.

Beyond the Chelsea trio, the other nominees for the Premier League Player of the Season are: Dele Alli, Harry Kane, and Jan Vertonghen of Spurs, Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal (for now), and Romelu Lukaku of Everton (for now).

Conte meanwhile has some tough competition for Manager of the Season, with tremendous work done by likes of Howe and Dyche and Clement at the smaller clubs of the league. The six nominees including the Chelsea boss are: Paul Clement (Swansea), Antonio Conte (Chelsea), Sean Dyche (Burnley), Eddie Howe (Bournemouth), Mauricio Pochettino (Spurs), Tony Pulis (WBA).

Don’t forget to vote!
