Good news on N’Golo Kanté as Chelsea resume training ahead of West Brom match

It’s a short and busy week for Chelsea as the season draws to a close.

Monday night’s 3-0 win over Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge was followed by a rest day on Tuesday before the squad returned to the only full day of training yesterday. With a match on Friday at the Hawthorns and then another one on Monday back at the Bridge, there’s not much time for anything else beyond rest, recovery, and travel. (A bit of a preview, that, for next season’s added European commitments.)

As Chelsea TV’s daily training ground report reveals, after Wednesday’s full day, another half-day of training awaits the squad today (Thursday) before the boys travel up to West Bromwich to get settled in for Friday night’s potential title-clincher.

One of the key participants in all that activity has been N’Golo Kanté, who, after missing Monday’s match with a minor thigh injury, looks set to return tomorrow. Antonio Conte will be conducting his usual pre-match press conference in a few short hours (13:15 local time) and will no doubt be asked about Kanté’s situation, but if these training shots are any indication, the PFA and FWA Player of the Year will be ready to help Chelsea take the final step to the title tomorrow night.
