Eden Hazard talks on Manchester City match-up, Thibaut Courtois' saves, title chase

With pressure on Chelsea to get a good result against Manchester City last night after failing to beat Crystal Palace last weekend, the Blues relied heavily once again on Eden Hazard to get all three points on Wednesday. As he tends to do, Hazard produced a great overall performance, including scoring both goals in Chelsea’s 2-1 win.

Eden himself was pleased with the result as well.

"It was a big win of course. I don’t know if the way we played was beautiful but the most important thing is to win games. The way we play we can do better but after a defeat it was important to come back here and win three points against a great team."

"It is always a real battle when you play against Man City, we were lucky to score the first and then they scored to make it 1-1. In the first half we did everything, we created a couple of chances and we scored another one so the result is 2-1 and we are happy."

Although Chelsea gifted a goal to the visitors when Thibaut Courtois’s clearance went straight to David Silva instead of a blue shirt, the Chelsea goalkeeper was also a key contributor in helping to keep the score to our advantage. For Eden, Chelsea are lucky to have a player of Thibaut's calibre in the them.

"Thibaut makes some great saves. Okay, he made a mistake with the goal but everyone is involved in this team and we are lucky to have him in the team."

As striker Diego Costa continues to struggle to get back into goalscoring form, Eden has become one of the two Chelsea front-runners for the Premier League’s Player of the Year award at the end of the season. (The other is N’Golo Kanté.) However, as we know, Eden’s focus is not on individual achievements, but rather on helping Chelsea lift the Premier League trophy.

"I try to do my best and help the team to win games. We have now eight games to play, we want to finish top, that is my target. We have to be ready for everything and we have to concentrate on Chelsea not Tottenham."

"We are nearly there but there is a long way to go. We have some difficult games but we are ready for everything, we prepare every week to ready for the games."
