We’re about the enter the final month of the season, where heroes are made and titles are won. Chelsea may yet waltz to the finish line, as our not too distant double-digit points lead once promised, but it’s much more likely to be a close race. Today, the final day of April, promises to be a most pivotal day in that race, with Chelsea facing a never easy trip to Goodison to face an in-form Everton side, and Spurs following that up with the final North London Derby ever at White Hart Lane.
Super Sunday, indeed.
At this point of the season, mental toughness counts for almost as much as tactics and fitness and strategy and skill. At this point, it’s all about concentration, ambition, and to use that all too frequently used word in sports, character. At this point, it’s all about character.
“I think at this stage of the season it is very important to have players with a good personality, with strong character, because you must be ready to face a different situation and before the game, during the game, after the game, it's important to have strong players with a strong character.”
“We have a lot of warriors in the team and every day I work with them to be warriors, because I think it is great to have talent, but I like a lot when you are also a warrior during the game.”

Chelsea have shown great ... character ... to move on from the deflating defeat at Old Trafford to put four past both Tottenham and Southampton and book our place in the FA Cup final while also keeping up the title charge. Now the former is firmly on the back-burner and it’s all hands to the pump for the Premier League trophy.
Today’s game will most certainly not be easy, but if we can’t have confidence in the boys now, then when can we?
Let’s go.
